James Cornehlsen
brings more than 20 years of
executive search leadership to
his role at Columbia Consulting
Group (CCG). Jim has a
seasoned perspective on
executive search having spent
time on both sides of the desk.
He has served as practice leader
at a global firm, a partner in a
boutique firm, inside talent
management roles, and founder of
his own firm. Jim has a strong
service and strategic business
orientation and has long been a
student of executive search
‘best practices’ as they relate
to changing client needs. In
completing a wide range of
assignments at the Board, CEO
and C Suite level, Jim has
established a reputation for
deep personal connection to his
clients, for business
understanding and due diligence,
a focus on leadership needs for
the future, and thorough
performance referencing.
Jim has focused on technology applications
and the dramatic leadership
shift required for success in
the digital, global and open
communication dynamics of a
rapidly changing world.
Functionally he specializes in
the needs for the Chief Revenue
Officer including sales,
marketing, communications,
research, and product
development/R&D.
Before entering executive search, Jim held
line management roles in three
global companies and served as
CEO of an Hispanic media
company. He has managed
international sales and has had
operating assignments in Mexico,
Spain and Canada.
Jim is a frequent speaker on the new
thinking to manage in change and
uncertainty, the new
requirements for the CEO, and
led many discussions regarding
the impact of next generation
technologies. He has been
listed in the Career Makers as
one of the top 100 recruiters in
America. Jim is a graduate of
Dartmouth College.
